SAMUEL W. SPECK III, DVM
Dr. Sam Speck received his DVM in 1989 from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and joined Fox Veterinary Hospital that same year.
Outside of the hospital, he is a member of the Elyria Sunrise Rotary Club and a board member of the Community Foundation of Lorain County.
He and his wife, Ellen, live near LaGrange.
JOSEPH A. URIG, DVM
Dr. Joe Urig graduated in 1992 from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Having grown up in Eaton Township and now residing in Carlisle Township, Dr. Joe is involved in various community activities. He currently serves as a trustee for the Grafton-Midview Public Library and volunteers for several organizations.
SANDY NAXER RICHARDS, Practice Manager, RVT
Sandy graduated from Cuyahoga Community College, obtaining her Associates Degree in Applied Science, and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2009. Since graduating she has been involved in large animal medicine, companion animal medicine, emergency medicine, and medical research.
Sandy joined FVH in March of 2016. She enjoys spending time with her family and taking care of her small farm including horses, goats, chickens, cats, and dogs.
CHARLES FOX, Founding DVM
In 1951, Dr. Charles Fox founded Fox Veterinary Hospital, serving the pets of Elyria with compassion and a dedication to high-quality veterinary care. In 1986, he retired from seeing pets, but his love of pets kept him involved with the practice until he passed in 2007. Fox Veterinary Hospital continues to honor his memory by upholding his standard of care and commitment to compassionate service.
WILLIAM K. FOX, DVM
On October 1, 2014, Dr. Fox retired from the practice but was still active as a Board Member of FVH. In July 2020, Dr. Fox passed away, leaving behind his legacy that we continue to uphold.
Our Technicians
We have 6 Registered Veterinary Technicians on staff including: Shannon, Angelica (aka Jelly – Lead Technician), Alea, Katelin, Evangelina (aka Evie) and Sandy (the Practice Manager)
We have 3 Veterinary Assistants: Becky, Melanie (Office Operations Coordinator), and Paige
Our Techs and Assistants make up a team that any Veterinary Hospital would be proud to have. The knowledge, skill, compassion and level of care coming from them is outstanding. Rest assured your pet is treated as one of our own.
Our Receptionists
Our receptionists are our first eyes and ears of what is happening. Their role is very important to us and we rely heavily on them to relay your pet’s needs. They are there to help you and your pet receive the best care possible and are glad to accommodate you in whatever way possible.
